Commercial Vehicle Safety & Importation - Information Sheet

The purpose of this Information Sheet is to inform passenger transportation licence applicants and licensees of provincial and federal commercial vehicle safety requirements, federal requirements for imported vehicles, and other legislation related to commercial passenger vehicles. When operating a vehicle under a passenger transportation licence it is the owner's responsibility to ensure that it meets Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. This is an ongoing obligation.
