Permanent Count Sites, identified by the character   “P-“in the site code (e.g. P-16-1NS), collect data on a continuous basis throughout the year. Data collected at Permanent Sites include volumes for all the sites and speed and length data for approximately 50% of the sites.

Published data available for Permanent Count Sites include Daily, Monthly and Annual reports.

The Ministry also has 5 Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) sites that use a combination of inductive loops and piezoelectric sensors to count and classify vehicles. WIM sites, identified with the character “W-“in the site code (e.g. W-65-1NS), collect data on a continuous basis throughout the year.

Published data available for WIM Sites include Daily, Monthly and Annual reports.
