CAPACITY / MOBILITY
With 80 km of new passing lanes traffic flow on the Sea-to-Sky highway will be significantly improved. Most of the highway between West Vancouver and Brackendale will be four lanes with some 2 and 3 lanes sections. North of Squamish to Whistler the highway will be three lanes with an alternating passing lane. Drivers on the improved Sea-to-Sky highway will have a safe passing opportunity every 3 or 4 minutes significantly reducing driver frustration. Along with improved mobility the increased capacity will handle expected growth in population and tourism to the year 2025.
Traffic flow through Squamish will be significantly improved with the new 4 lane configuration, improved intersections and synchronized lights.
