Middle Section Photo Gallery – Fall 2007Porteau Bridge Pier and Wall ConstructionIn this series of pictures, crews are constructing concrete piers for a half-bridge structure and supporting walls for two new lanes of highway about 1 km south of Porteau Cove Provincial Park. It is interesting to see how they have turned the constraint of having the railway below the work area to an advantageous way of gaining access to a difficult building site. The aerial photo taken about one month after the others, shows how the walls and half bridge structures fit together both above and below the highway.
