Sea-to-Sky Improvements 50% Complete

Tuesday, July 10th at the site of the new Britannia Creek Bridge, 40 km north of Vancouver, Premier Gordon Campbell, Minster of Transportation Kevin Falcon, civic leaders and workers on the Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvement Project celebrated passing the 50% completion milestone.

The Premier and Minster arrived in a fuel cell vehicle (FCV). These are revolutionary automobiles that produce no tailpipe emissions. Rather than burning gas, these vehicles are propelled by electric motors that get their energy from fuel cells, devices that extract electricity from hydrogen fuel quietly, efficiently and without combustion. The Sea-to-Sky Highway is part of the Hydrogen Highway, a planned network of hydrogen fuel stations that will stretch from Whistler to Vancouver and eventually down the west coast of North America.

Following remarks to the guests and media, the Premier presented commemorative medals to the workers, thanking them for their dedication and work on the project.
