ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT APPLICATION

The Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) is a neutral provincial agency that coordinates assessment of the impacts of major development proposals in British Columbia. It reports to the Honourable George Abbott, Minister of Sustainable Resource Management.

The Environmental Assessment Application [link to EAA] describes the works during the construction phase of the Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvement Project, along with operations and maintenance activities, and works associated with the decommissioning and abandonment of construction works and highway facilities.

The assessment process results in recommendations to either grant or refuse an Environmental Assessment certificate. The recommendations are considered, and a decision made by the Minister of Sustainable Resource Management, Minister of Water, Land and Air Protection and a third appropriate minister.

This 5-volume Environmental Assessment Application is also located on the B.C. Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) website.
