Finance & Administration

The Finance and Administration Branch, located at headquarters in Victoria, provides corporate planning, facilities management and writing services to the Ministry of Transportation and financial management services to both the Ministry and the BC Transportation Financing Authority, a crown corporation.

The Branch offers interesting and challenging work in a dynamic environment for those interested in careers in:

  • Strategic planning, business analysis and performance management;
  • Financial management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, financial and management accounting and reporting, financial modeling and budgets;
  • Issues management and communications;
  • Support services such as records management, space planning and property management and secretarial services.

The Branch offers financial and other support to employees interested in pursuing an accounting designation and in particular promotes the Financial Certificate Program sponsored by the Office of the Comptroller General. The Branch also participates in co-op programs with post-secondary institutions such as Camosun College’s School of Business http://www.bus.camosun.bc.ca/.

Finance and administrative positions are also available in the Ministry’s three regional offices located in Vancouver, Kamloops and Prince George. These positions provide a range of financial services including project accounting, contract management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budget development and monitoring.
