This edition of the Traffic Control Manual for Work
on Roadways was developed by a Committee for Traffic Control on Construction and
Maintenance Projects which was organized by the British Columbia Ministry of
Transportation.
The purpose of the Committee was to review and update
current traffic control standards on all types of projects. The review focused on activity
involving short duration, long duration and freeway conditions. The duties,
responsibilities and certification of flagpersons was also reviewed by a separate
commitee. The traffic control standards are organized in a way that non-Ministry
organizations such as utility companies and municpalities can readily use them.
Printed versions of the 1999 Field Edition
and printed, colour versions of this manual can be purchased from the Ministry of Management Services Publications
Index. (The Field Edition is available in printed format only).
