Administrative Penalties

Under the Passenger Transportation Act (PTA), the Registrar of Passenger Transportation has the authority to impose administrative penalties solely against the holder of a passenger transportation licence (“licensees.”) This is in recognition of each licensee’s responsibility to exercise oversight over the operation of their commercial passenger vehicles. The Registrar has developed an Administrative Penalty Framework (APF) to guide the implementation of these administrative penalties. Appeals of Administrative Penalties

Licensees may appeal an administrative penalty imposed by the Registrar of Passenger Transportation. Appeals are made to the Passenger Transportation Board (“PT Board”). The PT Board prepared the following documents to help licensees understand its appeal process and requirements:
