Accessible Taxis
The taxi industry is a service industry. Taxis provide their transportation services to the general public which includes people who use wheelchairs and other mobility aids. The Board takes the view that both accessible and regular taxi services should both be available to the public, especially in larger communities. Although the operation of an accessible taxi is more costly than a regular sedan taxicab, accessible taxis can be used to carry any passenger. All passengers who are provided transportation in an accessible taxi pay the same rate as when a regular sedan or van taxicab is used.
