October 16, 2009 – PRINCE GEORGE – Minister Shirley Bond was joined by Jay Hill, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and the Member of Parliament for Prince George-Peace River, Shirley Bond, to unveiled the $28-million Boundary Road Connector Project on Thursday, October 15th. Also on hand for the unveiling was Minister of Forests and Range and MLA from Prince George – Mackenzie Pat Bell, and Prince George Mayor Dan Rogers.
“Our Federal government is creating jobs and investing in priority infrastructure through Canada’s Economic Action Plan,” said MP Jay Hill. “Investments in our roadways reduce traffic congestion, ease local commutes and result in cleaner air.”
“Prince George City Council identified this project as their number one priority and we recognize that it is critical to the strategy that will ensure our airport will be a significant economic driver in northern B.C.,” said Minister Bond. “It will also create over 170 direct jobs during these challenging economic times.” |
