PRINCE GEORGE CELEBRATES SIMON FRASER BRIDGE COMPLETION
August 23, 2009 – Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Shirley Bond was joined by Minister of Forests and Range Pat Bell, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and the MP for Prince George-Peace River Jay Hill and other dignitaries to open the twinned Simon Fraser Bridge in Prince George. The new span of the Simon Fraser Bridge doubles the number of lanes from two to four, reducing traffic congestion and saving travel time for commuters, tourist and commercial vehicles along Highway 97.
