CANADA LINE OPENS ON BUDGET AND AHEAD OF SCHEDULE
August 17, 2009 – Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Shirley Bond prepares to board the Canada Line at the official launch of the $2 billion rapid transit project. The 19 kilometre line connecting Vancouver International Airport, Richmond and downtown Vancouver is projected to carry 100,000 passengers per day. The provincial government contributed $435 million.
