Flyover Provides Safer Access to UBC Okanagan
October 1 – A transit bus is the first vehicle to cross the flyover into the University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBC Okanagan) campus, marking its official opening. Transportation Minister Kevin Falcon, Kelowna Mayor Sharon Shepherd and UBC Okanagan deputy vice chancellor Doug Owram were on hand to celebrate the three-way partnership that helped build the structure, which will improve safety and reduce congestion by taking campus traffic over Highway 97. |
