Celebrating a Highway Milestone
July 24 – Transportation Minister Kevin Falcon talks with media following a July 24 ceremony to celebrate completion of a nine-kilometre, four-lane section of Highway 97C, outside of Merritt. The project means the three-section Coquihalla Highway System is now at least four lanes over its entire 300 kilometre route. It was 30 years ago that B.C. announced it would build the Coquihalla.
