  Engineer's Seal and Signature

The Engineers' and Geoscientists' Act outlines the practice of Professional Engineering and the responsibilities of the licensee for:

  • design supervision
  • the signing and sealing of design related documents
  • quality management
  • designers’ role during construction
Therefore, signatures (with professional seal or stamp) of the engineer responsible for the assignment and of the engineer reviewing the work are required on all reports and all contract drawings.

Preliminary and internal documentation including letter reports and drawings labeled “not for construction” must be signed but need not be sealed or stamped.
