The Engineers' and Geoscientists' Act outlines the practice of Professional
Engineering and the responsibilities of the licensee for:
- design supervision
- the signing and sealing of design related documents
- quality management
- designers’ role during construction
Therefore, signatures (with
professional seal or stamp) of the engineer responsible for the assignment
and of the engineer reviewing the work are required on all reports and all
contract drawings.
Preliminary and internal documentation including letter
reports and drawings labeled “not for construction” must be signed but need
not be sealed or stamped.
