Park Bridge Opens to Traffic

GOLDEN – The new Park Bridge opened to traffic on Thursday evening, August 30, 2007 just a few hours after Premier Gordon Campbell drove a 50’s classic car over the bridge in a ceremonial first crossing.

The spectacular new 4-lane bridge, over 400 metres long and 90 metres high, was completed several months ahead of schedule.

At the official opening earlier in the day, Premier Campbell and Transportation Minister Kevin Falcon unveiled a plaque dedicating the Park Bridge to the past and present highway and bridge workers of British Columbia for their contributions on behalf of the citizens of the Province.
