The Ministry
of Transportation established the Hired Equipment Program in the
late 1970s in recognition of its intent to have lists of equipment available for hire within the Province, and to implement the hiring
of equipment, on an hourly basis for day-labour projects and/or
emergency response situations.
One of the key
objectives of this Program is to fairly and equitably distribute
the available work to equipment owners within the Province, in the
most cost effective manner, recognizing local seniority in providing
historical service to the Ministry.
The information
available on this site provides an overview of the program and specific
procedures for equipment owners / operators who either want to get
involved or are already involved in the Ministry’s Hired Equipment
Program

These
self service functions allow Hired Equipment owners to access
their information at their convenience. All of this can be
done through the BC Bid website at www.bcbid.ca.
