Evergreen Rapid Transit Project – House Demolitions

Hans Demolition was awarded a contract valued at $99,465.75 for the demolition of three residential buildings that are located in the corridor lands of the Evergreen Line.

The project is expected to start February 8, 2012 and end February 17, 2012.

Hwy 1 – Capilano Road to Westview Drive Shoulder – Widening

Westpro Infrastructure Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $3,320,617.00 to widen the shoulder, extend the pathway, and install an absorptive sound wall, a retaining wall and safety railing.

Gateway Program – South Fraser Perimeter Road – North & East Irrigation Control Gates

Graham Construction and Engineering was awarded a contract valued at $1,294,488.00 for the North & East Irrigation Control Gate project. This project is a component of the SFPR Agricultural Enhancement Strategy. The project will consist of new control structures on the North irrigation channel at 72 Street, and on the East irrigation channel at Churchill Road. The broad scope of work includes constructing the foundations for the installation of three owner supplier langemann gates.

The project is expected to start September 19, 2011 and end October 31, 2011.

Hwy 4 – Redman Road/Whiskey Creek – Intersection Improvements

Windley Contracting (2010) Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $579,810.00 to widen Highway 4 to accommodate a left turn lane and for the construction of a frontage road between Redman Road and the Whiskey Creek Store.

The project is expected to start October 17, 2011 and end November 18, 2011.

Landfill Closure Stage 2: Leachate Collection System and Earthworks

BD Hall Constructors Corp. DBA Hall Constructors was awarded a contract valued at $2,000,000.00 for the closure of portions of five historical landfills located along the SFPR alignment.  The Stage 1 work consisted of the movement of existing landfill waste to a new landfill, and the construction of the landfill gas collection and landfill cover systems.  Stage 2 will consist of the leachate collection system and electrical work.  

The project is expected to start September 12, 2011 and end November 30, 2011.

Gateway Program South Fraser Perimeter Road 80th Street Irrigation Pump

Graham Construction and Engineering was awarded a contract valued at $5,265,888.00 for the 80th Street Irrigation Pump Station project; a component of the SFPR Agricultural Enhancement Strategy.  The project will consist of a new irrigation and drainage pump station at the north end of 80th Street.  The broad scope of work includes the installation of twin intake pipes complete with fish screen and air burst system; construction of the pump house; installation of the irrigation discharge pipe between the pump house and the 80th Street ditch, and the construction of a new overshot gate on the south side of the 80th Street floodbox.

The project is expected to start September 6, 2011 and end January 31, 2012.

Gateway Program – South Fraser Perimeter Road – Big Slough Control Gate

Graham Construction and Engineering was awarded a contract valued at $1,342,188.00 for The Big Slough Control Gate & Fish Ladder project; a component of the SFPR Agricultural Enhancement Strategy. The project will consist of a new control structure and fish ladder at the convergence of Big Slough, Robertson Slough, and the Lorne Ditch. The broad scope of work includes constructing the foundation for the installation of two owner supplier langemann gates, and the construction of a fish ladder.

The project is expected to start August 18, 2011 and end October 31, 2011.

Hwy 9 – Yale Road East – Sound Wall

Jakes Construction Ltd was awarded a contract valued at $439,390.00 for construction of a sound attenuation barrier to address resident and regional district complaints. This project includes the construction of berm or raising the existing berm and building a noise wall on top of the berm.

The project is expected to start August 24, 2011 and end October 14, 2011.

Dick Booth Culvert  – Design and Replace Dick Booth Culvert

Upland Excavating Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $1,511,005.70 to design and replace the Dick Booth Culvert. The replacement culvert or bridge shall be designed in accordance with the CHBDC and TRAN design standards.

The project is expected to start August 22, 2011 and end October 31, 2011.

Mission Area – Side Roads – Resurfacing

Stave Lake Imperial Paving Limited was awarded a contract valued at $446,981.00 for pavement repair and asphalt resurfacing.

The project is expected to start September 27, 2011 and end October 8, 2011.

Hwy 17 Patricia Bay Highway – Tolmie to Sayward and McKenzie Avenue – Resurfacing

Industries Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $3,266,678.50 to Extend the service life of the existing pavement on Hwy 17 - Patricia Bay Hwy, between Tolmie Avenue and Sayward Road and on a portion of McKenzie Avenue.

The project is expected to be completed by Octopber 6, 2011.

Hwy 99 – Between White Rock and Richmond – Shoulder Bus Lanes

Highway 99 between White Rock and Richmond is a popular route for motorists and public transit. The Government of Canada and the Province have invested in shoulder bus lanes to offer commuters an affordable and efficient way to move through traffic congestion during peak periods. Shoulder bus lanes are dedicated sections of highway shoulders for public transit use.

Hwy 99 – Duffy Lake Road and Pemberton Portage Road – Stabilized Base and Asphalt Resurfacing

Apine Paving (1978) Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $3,449,407.25 for the construction of a foamed asphalt stabilized base and asphalt pavement overlay for Highway 99 – Duffy Lake Road and for the pavement reclamation, including pulverizing the existing pavement and underlying granular base and asphalt pavement overlay of Pemberton Portage Road.

The project is expected to start August 8, 2011 and end October 15, 2011.

Hwy 4 - Wally Creek Replacement Structure No. 6863 and Lost Shoe No. 1 Replacement Structure No. 7895

Windley Contracting (2010) Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $2,535,000.00 to replace two narrow aging log timber structures. Both will be replaced with concrete box beam bridges, and include improvements made to approach alignments.

The project is expected to be completed by October 6, 2011.

Hwy 99 – North Bound Shoulder Bus Lane – BNSF Overhead Widening

Tybo Contracting Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $4,415,933.97 for the BNSF Railway Bridge widening and associated approach works.

The project is expected to start July 4, 2011 and end October 31, 2011.

Hwy 7 – Over Pass Hatzic Pumps Bridge #0908 – Renewal

Jakes Construction Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $602,183.00 to replace the existing deck with 8 concrete full panels, install code compliant bridge railings and expand the deck to have 3.6m lanes with 1.4m shoulders.

The project is expected to start July 15, 2011 and end October 31, 2011.

Marine Drive / Lions Gate – Transit Priority

BA Blacktop Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $8,994,771.96 to redefine the roadway within the existing right-of-way along Marine Drive from Tatlow Avenue in North Vancouver up to and including the on-ramp and the complete southbound approach to the Lions Gate Bridge, in order to accommodate a westbound Marine Drive transit only lane. The southbound transit only lane on the approach to the Lions Gate Bridge will be extended to merge with the existing eastbound Marine Drive transit only lane as far as possible. The existing westbound Lions Gate Bridge transit queue jump loop will be reconfigured. The four lane Marine Drive overpass will be replaced with a new five lane structure.

Hwy 7 – Nelson Street – Intersection Improvements

Imperial Paving Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $3,276,254.45 for 4-laning construction continued from Phase 1 (Highway 7 Nelson to Wren 4-Laning) through Nelson Street. Intersection improvements include signalization.

Deltaport Way – 41B Street Rail Overpass – Replace Crossing

Jacob Bros. Construction Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $9,287,565.00 to replace the existing at-grade crossing at 41B Street with a new two-lane overpass of Deltaport Way and the BC Railway line (of sufficient span to accommodate any future expansion of the railway); to rebuild of 41B Street north of the overpass connecting 41B Street to Deltaport Way on the north side of the overpass.

The project is expected to start October 19, 2010 and end March 31, 2012.

Hwy 17 – South Fraser Perimeter Road (SFPR) Interchange – Construction

Westpro Infrastructure Ltd. was awarded a contract valued at $12,059,296.60 for the Highway 17 interchange structures. This contract involves construction of two structures and associated embankments for the new interchange between the new SFPR and the existing Highway 17.

The project is expected to start September 7, 2010 and end October 30, 2011.

Mission Bridge No. 2317 – Seismic Safety Retrofit

Kingston Construction was awarded a contract valued at $9,518,875.90 for the seismic retrofit of the Mission Bridge Structure No. 2317. The seismic retrofit improvements is the first phase to be performed in two areas, one for the superstructure work and a second for the soil densification work.

The project is expected to start October 1, 2010 and end December 15, 2011.
