Project Update: October 5, 2009

Project Scope:

• Re-alignment of Horse Lake Rd and 7th Street to create  full movement, 4-legged, signalized intersections on Hwy 97 under the Cariboo-Connector 4-Laning Strategy
• Extension of 4-laning on Hwy 97, frontage road improvements, illumination, mobility and access management improvements are also components of the project

Benefits:

• Improved level of safety and service on Hwy 97 at Horse Lake Rd and 7th Street intersections
• As the project is in close proximity to a secondary school, additional benefits will include improved safety for school bus turning movements, pedestrians, and associated school traffic

Cost and Funding:

• The total project cost is approximately $7.1 million
• The provincial government is investing $5.1 million
• The District Municipality of 100 Mile House is investing $2.0 million
