Pavement Marking Service Agreements

IMPORTANT

PROPONENTS FOR the NORTH EAST RFP and the NORTH WEST RFP

– PLEASE TAKE NOTE

Due to the recent government reorganization, effective June 23, 2008, the “Ministry of Transportation” has been renamed the MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE. Third Party Documents have been amended accordingly. Please note that Proponents submitting Proposals for the North East Pavement Marking Service Area and the North West Pavement Marking Service Area should use the amended form of Third Party Documents included in those amended RFPs when submitting their Proposal (s).

However, with respect to Proposals submitted for those RFPs only, and in recognition that some Proponents may already be in the process of preparing or obtaining their Third Party Documents for submission, the Ministry will not reject any Third Party Document solely on the basis that it shows the name “Ministry of Transportation” where it should instead show the name “Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure”. Otherwise, the requirements set out in the RFPs for the submission and form of Third Party Documents must be strictly followed.

PROPONENTS FOR the KOOTENAY, THOMPSON-CARIBOO, OKANAGAN, VANCOUVER ISLAND, and LOWER MAINLAND

Submitting a Proposal that uses the old Ministry name may result in the rejection of that Proposal.

The following electronic versions of Third Party Documents are provided for the convenience of Proponents. However, Proponents are advised that they assume full responsibility for ensuring all Third Party Documents submitted as part of a proposal are in compliance with the formats set out in the RFP.

British Columbia’s highways are maintained by private contractors throughout the province. The Ministry of Transportation is in the process of renewing these agreements. This Web site is aimed at keeping proponents as well as the public, informed on the results of that process.

The new service agreements are for five-year terms.

The service agreements are ‘lump sum’ agreements – proponents bid a first year contract price. The contract includes an annual price adjustment process to take into account changes in costs; changes in inventory for which the contractor is responsible in a contract year; and changes in the level of service.

Contractors will be required to have a system to ensure they are delivering a quality service.

The Ministry’s Quality Plan consists of monitoring and auditing the contractors to ensure compliance with the service agreement.
