Updates

Major revisions to chapters or sections within the BC Supplement to TAC Geometric Design Guide will be issued as updates. The updates may include new or revised guidelines, errata corrections, and may incorporate previously issued Technical Bulletins.

UPDATE Revised Chapter 1200   (July 5, 2011)

There are three files provided under Tab 12 below.  The printing instructions are as follows: print the main "(for printing)" PDF double sided on letter size paper and hole punch; print the “Chapter 1200 - 1220 Drawings” PDF single sided on 11” x 17” paper, fold, hole punch and insert into the correct position in the main document.

The file that indicates "(for viewing)" contains hyperlinks that will open to the selected figure of the “Chapter 1200 - 1220 Drawings” file.  For the hyperlinks to open directly to the correct figure, both of these files must be saved into the same folder on your computer, and the saved filename for the figures must be named “Chapter 1200 - 1220 Drawings.pdf”.  The easiest way to ensure that the filename is correct is to right click on the link and select ‘Save Target As ...’; otherwise, the spaces between words will be replaced with ‘%20’ and the hyperlinks will not work.

There have been some minor changes to Sections 1210 and 1220.  There have been significant changes to Sections 1230, 1240, 1250, and 1260.  There have been no changes to the written content of Section 1270; however, there has been a considerable improvement to the quality and legibility of the figures.

ERRATA Revised Figures 1420.B, 1420.C, and 1420.D (August 27, 2007)

There have been corrections to Figures 1420.B, 1420.C, and 1420.D regarding the fill slopes. Replace pages 1420-3 to 1420-6, inclusive, in the BC Supplement to TAC Geometric Design Guide. There has not been any revision to page 1420-6; it has merely been included to preserve the duplex pagination.

ERRATA (July 20, 2007)

There have been two corrections to the BC Supplement to TAC. If you downloaded the manual or individual chapters prior to July 20, 2007, then the following pages must be replaced:

Acknowledgements, Page i (page 5 of the 510 page version of the entire guide or page 5 of the Preface under the individual chapters).

Chapter 700, Section 720, Page 720-1 (page 129 of the 510 page version of the entire guide or page 19 of Tab 7 under the individual chapters).

The July 20, 2007 errata do not affect the hard copy version ordered through the Queen’s Printer. The corrections were made to the document before going to print. The errata only affect the original version that was available for downloading on this web page before July 20, 2007. All downloads done after July 20, 2007 contain the corrections to the two pages mentioned in this errata.

Technical Bulletins for BC Supplement to TAC Geometric Design Guide

New guidelines or instructions for the BC Supplement to TAC Geometric Design Guide that are necessary prior to a major update are done with Technical Bulletins to provide for a more speedy distribution process.

Note that most old Technical Bulletins that were listed on this web page prior to the release of the 2007 edition of the BC Supplement to TAC Geometric Design Guide have been removed. The removed Technical Bulletins have been incorporated (some with revisions) into various sections within the current BC Supplement to TAC; therefore, these old bulletins are obsolete and no longer in effect.

NEW! Technical Bulletin DS09001 – Cable Barrier (Median and Roadside) (September 29, 2009) This bulletin is part of Technical Circular T-09/09 and replaces bulletin DS04004.
