Pacific Gateway Strategy Implementation Plan
– Currently under development
Implementation of the Pacific Gateway Strategy has now started. Next steps will include establishing detailed work plans for implementation and confirming funding sources for initiatives which are required to meet the Pacific Gateway Strategy objectives. Opportunities for collaboration and participation to identify and develop strategic additional initiatives needed to meet growth targets will continue to be explored.
Inland Container Terminal Study – December 2006
The Pacific Gateway Strategy Action Plan notes that there may be opportunities for inland container terminal development in British Columbia as a way to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain. Last year, the Ministry of Transportation engaged consultants to determine key success factors, best practices and the opportunities for further inland container terminal development in the Lower Mainland and the interior of British Columbia, along the northern and southern transportation corridors. The Inland Container Terminal study provides a context and basis for further business case development by private sector or community interests, as market conditions dictate. Link
Pacific Gateway Strategy Action Plan – April 2006
The Pacific Gateway Strategy Action Plan identifies infrastructure and complementary policy initiatives required to achieve traffic growth targets and associated economic benefits. Initiatives included are based on consultation with key stakeholders and prior assessments of gateway requirements conducted by other agencies. The Action Plan was developed by an expert Industry Advisory Group. Link
BC Ports Strategy – March 2005 
The British Columbia Ports Strategy presents a vision for the port system in 2020, its opportunities and challenges and the goals and strategies needed to achieve the vision. The strategy outlines what all partners need to do to position the ports system to maximize trade and economic growth opportunities for B.C. and Canada. Link
