Minister Shirley Bond connecting with shipping executives at the World Shipping Summit Gala dinner while in China, a stop on her 10-day Asian trade mission.
While in Guangzhou, Pacific Gateway Alliance partners met with the Guangdong Provincial Government and attended the World Shipping Summit to increase trade opportunities, connect with industry leaders and strengthen business relationships. The World Shipping Summit attracts top management from 20 industries, including shipping, logistics, ports, shipyards, crews, bunkers, banks, shippers and investors.
Minister Bond also met with Captain Wei Jiafu, President and CEO of COSCO and is looking forward to doing more business with one of the world’s largest shipping companies.
Guangzhou is a special stop on the 10-day Asia tour as the city has been twinned with Vancouver since 1985. Visit our Flickr site for photos.
