A Closer Look At The Process…

The Okanagan Valley Transportation Symposium began with a series of meetings with communities, First Nations and other stakeholders to identify priorities and expectations.
These initial discussions were held between May and June, 2011. They provided the foundation necessary for the next step – a series of three workshops (1A, 1B and 1C) conducted at the staff level with representatives from municipal and First Nations, as well as regional districts and chambers of commerce.
Those three workshops were held July 19 and 20, 2011. The intent of three workshops was the same, but they were held in different locations (one in the south, central and north Okanagan regions). The information from those sessions was then presented to elected officials at the fourth and final meeting on September 16, 2011 (Workshop 2).
The final result – consensus on a comprehensive vision for future planning and transportation priorities in the Okanagan.
