TDS Survey Pro


The Ministry uses TDS Survey Pro 3.8.1 for all Location, As Constructed and Construction Volumes surveying. TDS Survey Pro is run on Windows CE field computers connected to a variety of Total Station survey instruments. With the implementation of TDS Survey Pro, the Ministry has developed standard TDS Survey Pro library files and user documentation. These files are available for download below.

Survey Pro 4.1.2 BCMoT Supplemental.pdf

A BCMoT manual that describes specific field survey methodology for TDS Survey Pro and associated files used by the Ministry. Specific processes are detailed that cover TDS Survey Pro functionality, reduction and post survey editing of a survey using TDS Foresight DXM, and the transfer of data such as Points, Chains, Design cross-section road templates , Design DTMs (Design surface Digital Terrain Models) as well as Design Surface LandXML.xml alignments and Design cross-section surfaces in a LandXML format, to and from the CAiCE engineering software required for use on Ministry projects. The MoT supplemental file is used in conjunction with the TDS User's manual and TDS Reference Manual for Survey Pro Max on a ReCon field computer.

A user uploadable text file, stored on a TDS ReCon field computer and loaded into a TDS Survey Pro *.job file via the “Auto Linework” command. The file supports the graphical viewing of survey chains on the field computer during field surveys.

BCMoT Construction Description codes.txt

A user uploadable text file, stored on a TDS ReCon and loaded into a TDS Survey Pro *.job file via the “Files — › Description Files” command. The file supports point and chain coding derived from the CAiCE BCMoT Global Feature Table including all CAiCE "Construction" feature codes for survey points

A user uploadable file, stored on a TDS ReCon and loaded into a TDS Survey Pro *.job file via the “Files — › Feature Code Files” command. The file supports point attributes, such as the CAiCE attributes Ground-Straight, Ground-Curved, and Feature-Straight, Feature-Curved, and secondary attributes like Culvert types and sizes, for assignment to a particular survey shot during a survey.
