UPDATE – Flood Protection Program
Applications for Disaster Mitigation Flood Protection projects closed on September 24, 2010. Applications are currently under review.
UPDATE - Flood Protection Program - Intake 2010
Preliminary applications will be accepted for flood protection projects that may be staged, implemented and completed before February 28, 2014. Preliminary applications will be accepted in three tiers:

Tier 1: Infrastructure projects to be completed before February 25, 2011. Deadline for submitting preliminary applications: July 30, 2010.

Tier 2: Multi-year infrastructure projects to be completed before February 28, 2014. Deadline for submitting preliminary applications: September 24, 2010.

Tier 3: For sediment removal projects to be completed anytime before February 28, 2014. Deadline for submitting preliminary applications: September 24, 2010.
Building Canada Fund-Communities Component
The program has approved 131 community projects totalling over $561 million, which represents over $175 million from the Government of Canada, over $175 million from the Province of British Columbia, and the remainder from local governments.
Applications for funding under the Building Canada Fund - Communities Component are no longer being accepted. The program received over 600 funding applications.
